St Georges Anglican Cathedral Perth and PSAS Fremantle
where the locations of choice for these legends!
Here are a few words from Simone.
It was winter, so the vibe we went for was a little moody with some darker colourings and coppery tones. The church and reception venue were quite dramatic old spaces so matched the dramatic weather in the end – the storm of the year! Style we pitched for was ornate and formal yet still modern. As it turns out the theme ended up being very “game of thrones” although that wasn’t intentional, but the reception really did feel like a giant winter feast with fur, meat, red wine, we just needed some husky dogs.
Relaxing with the bridal crew for drinks at Petition Wine Bar after the ceremony, it was so chilled and just fun. Then all piling into the mini bus (which was decked out internally like a tacky limousine, pole and all) from the bar to the reception venue in Fremantle. The best dancing of the night! I should note the defining feature of the day was the biggest storm Perth had seen all year, so it took a long time to actually get to the reception due to fallen power lines, rain etc etc!
The groom and groomsmen had to catch an Uber to the church because their limo got flooded on the freeway. 20 + Asian tourists excessively taking photos of the bridal party, then joined in the photo with the bridal party for my fave pic of the day.
So happy we chose a venue where we could bring our own drinks and caterer. Herb was amazing, and we had the opportunity to serve our favourite wines and spirits as we brought them ourselves. The caterer organised all bar staff and glass hire so it wasn’t as stressful as I thought it could be by going down that path.
