Tamika + Chris’s Great Southern Elopement

17/09/2021

Tamika + Chris’s Great Southern Elopement, WA. Feat. in HELLO MAY.

Quoted from HELLO MAY
We met during the first Perth lockdown (Tamika’s bestfriend/Maid of Honour was Chris’s roommate. After being friends for a month we decided to start dating. Four days later Chris proposed to me at 4am in his bedroom after I jokingly dared him to. We then went on a month-long road trip to avoid telling everyone and appearing insane.
The theme was old-worldy/vintage but also minimalist. We stripped back all the bells and whistles associated with weddings (cake, guests, invites etc.) and just had the essentials to highlight the most important part of the wedding to us (vows, speeches from friends incorporated into the ceremony).
James and Olivia the photographers are wizards. They really helped to structure the day, ease a lot of the wedding stress, and capture the day, mood and emotion of the day.
The best man came to see me when I was getting ready, he showed me photos of the venue flooded (it rained all morning) and suggested to find another venue. I said “give me solutions not problems”. The grooms party fixed it immediately. Also, it was hilarious calling Chris’s mum telling her we eloped on the phone her reaction was equal parts excited and angry.
Cheers to
