Information

We all start somewhere right?

Once, I was walking backwards down the aisle photographing this sparkling new marriage that had just exchanged rings, when I went & fell over the Flower Girl. Yes, in the middle-of the aisle… the Flower Girl. She HOWLED. It was the first wedding I ever shot.

Despite wanting the ground to open & swallow me whole in that moment, I stuck with it & learnt one or two things here & there over the last 15Yrs. Then, in 2017 I grabbed the Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year, & in 2020 the International Wedding Photographer of the Year.

I still walk backwards down the aisle though.

I became a photographer so I could create a life out of doing what I adore – it’s cliché but true. I’m an advocate of the ‘good-times’ & want clients finishing a shoot with that feeling. I get excited like a 5Yr old on red cordial when faced with natural expressions & interactions, though I’m chill almost 100% of the time.

I dig the adventure-had, engagement-with & connections-made when telling peoples stories. I’m attracted to dramatic lighting that creates a dark kind-of scene cloaked in moodiness. I’m allergic to photographing rich-blue skies, fresh mowed grass, dead-stares into camera & forced smiles. I seek to ‘Break The Rules’ – of photographing that is… I’m no crim, though I could be when it comes to grammar.

I know it’s a big ask, asking people to relax & be themselves in front of a camera. So, this is a little something about me. When I watch a movie on a flight, there’s tears, 100% of the time. I have no idea what the root cause of this is (altitude?), but when I’m travelling alone, it can get awkward af.
