Rachel + Steven’s Margaret River Elopement

Rachel’s + Steven’s Sugarloaf Rock Elopement in Margaret River, WA.
“We were originally planned to hold our wedding at Millbrook Winery in Jarrahdale but after deciding to elope we wanted to go with something completely different. I asked Steve where he wanted to hold our elopement one night and he said to me quite clearly, “On a rock by the beach near a forest”. We found Sugarloaf Rock online and after having visited it, it was too epic to be beaten.”
Steve went to Sugarloaf Rock 20 minutes earlier than Rachel since she was still getting her dress on back at the AirBnB. Steve waited on a rock staring at the ocean for what felt like an eternity but it was 100% worth it.
“From the moment I stepped outside I was collecting wildlife in my skirt and veil. I think I had a stinkbug, a couple of bees, a bull ant, and a cricket all house themselves in my dress at some point during the day.”
“We had gone back and forth on the idea of doing the first dance as for us we dance every day and in a way felt a little bit cringe. In the end, we decided that we would do a little shuffle on the beach to our favourite song and we are both so glad we did as it was such an intimate moment for just the two of us. We then had a dance with our mum’s and popped some champagne together and it turned out to be a really memorable part of the day.”
